Panamanian Golden Frog

Visual Description

In front of you is a supersized frog, its body stretched long and low—far larger than life. As you reach out, you’ll feel how sleek and extended the form is, spanning over 8 feet from front to back.

Move your hands toward the back legs. One hind leg is opened wide and set firmly beneath the body, almost square in its stance, while the other stretches far behind, fully extended. This dramatic positioning captures the frog in mid-motion—at the peak of a leap, where one leg has pushed off and the other trails behind.

These powerful hind legs are what drive the frog’s movement. Muscles in the thighs and hips contract to launch the body forward, then extend fully to propel it through the air.

Along the body, the surface is smooth and streamlined, reflecting how these frogs move quickly across wet rocks and through fast-flowing streams. In life, their bold yellow and black coloration serves as a warning signal to predators—but here, you experience it through form and motion.

This sculpture captures both strength and agility—turning a small amphibian into a powerful, dynamic presence frozen in motion.
